Ana Maria offers hands-on jewelry and art classes at her home workshop in Marysvale Utah. She also does some of her beading and wire-wrap classes at Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort . Here are the classes she offers. You should be able to make your own jewelry by taking these instructional classes. Reservations are required.
Basic Beading (30.00 plus materials) Ana will teach you how to properly string a necklace and finish off the clasps. This class generally takes about 1.5 hours. You pick out the beads and necklace type you want from Ana’s inventory. Ana will charge $30.00 for the class. The materials will cost you an additional 10.00 to 50.00 depending on the quality and quantity of beads you choose. You will end up with the knowledge plus a jewelry piece worth 15.00 to 75.00. Basic Free Form Technique Wire Wrap Pendent (40.00 plus materials) Ana will teach you how to wire-wrap a pendent gem stone using the free form style. This class generally takes about 2 hours. You pick out the pendent stone you want from Ana’s inventory. Ana will charge $40.00 for the class. The materials will cost you an additional 5.00 to 50.00 depending on the quality of the stone and wire you choose. You will end up with the knowledge plus a jewelry piece worth 25.00 to 75.00. Elegant Technique Wire Wrap Pendant (50.00 plus materials) Ana will teach you how to wire-wrap a pendent gem stone using the elegant form style. This class generally takes about 3 hours. You pick out the pendent stone you want from Ana’s inventory. Ana will charge $50.00 for the class. The materials will cost you an additional 15.00 to 75.00 depending on the quality of the stone you choose. Ana only uses sterling silver or 14k gold wire for this technique. You will end up with the knowledge plus a jewelry piece worth 30.00 to 100.00. Elegant Bracelet Wire wrap (60.00 plus materials) Ana will teach you how to wire-wrap an elegant style bracelet. This class is labor-intensive and generally takes about 4 hours. You choose beads from Ana’s inventory. Ana will charge $60.00 for this class. The materials will cost you an additional 15.00 to 20.00 depending on the quality of the beads you choose. Ana only uses sterling silver or 14k gold wire for this technique. You will end up with the knowledge plus a bracelet piece worth 40.00 to 75.00. Basic Wire-wrap Ring (20.00 plus materials) Ana will only do this in conjunction with another class or as a group. This class will take about an hour will cost 20.00. The materials will be about 5.00. Basic Lapidary Cabochon (75.00 plus materials) Ana will teach you how to take a slab of gem material and trim an oval cabochon with the trim saw and then use the diamond grinder and polishing wheels to fashion a polished cabochon ready for mounting or wire-wrapping. Ana will charge 70.00 for this two hour class using the equipment at her home workshop. The material will usually be an additional 5.00 to 25.00 depending on the quality of the gemstone material. Mosaic Pietre Dure Art Class (500.00 plus materials) This class is offered as a 4 day class (about 24 hours of craft time total) and is $500.00. There will be an additional 50.00 to 100.00 in materials to produce an average size art picture. If you stay on-site at Bullion Creekside Retreat for this class then the discount rate is applied for the lodging. We prefer to teach the 4 day class during the off-season (Oct 15 to May 15). If you come in the off-season then a 25% additional discount applies to lodging. |
